Alaska Wind Turbines are powering up in remote corners of Alaska. Near Anchorage, the ZatzWorks Cineflex Aerial HD helicopter crew captured these images of the new Fire Island wind farm.
This commercial-scale wind farm was installed in late 2012 by CIRI, an Alaska Native Corporation. Ten turbines are currently spinning, and more are expected.
These things are enormous and we were happy for the telephoto power of the Cineflex so we could keep our distance!
