ZatzWorks Shoots Aerials for “Code Breakers”, helps win the Gemini Award

ZatzWorks’ DP Daniel Zatz helps Clearwater Documentary win a Gemini (Canadian Emmy) for Best Cinematography for Code Breakers. Director and Producer Niobe Thompson also won Best Science Documentary. About the Cineflex aerials shot by Daniel Zatz at ZatzWorks he says, “Much of the credit goes to you!”. ZatzWorks has the world’s first and only approved R44 Cineflex nose mount! Take 90 seconds to see what we are doing with it! Click on the picture then click on the link.

We spent a year in research, development and the FAA approval process, and it’s now here. For the first time we can offer the cost efficiency of the Robinson helicopter along with the best nose mount configuration possible.

This mount is better than the JetRanger and A-Star mounts. And it’s ten thousand times better (approximately) than the R44 side mount. We’ll post a reel of the nose footage in a few days. It’s amazing and a delight.

Cineflex Aerial of Caribou in NPRA

The National Petroleum Reserve Alaska, NPRA, is home to the Western Arctic Caribou Herd. It’s the largest caribou herd in Alaska, and when it moves across the land, the sights are stunning. We’ve captured amazing HD Cineflex stock footage of Alaska. See some of our best Alaska Cineflex Aerials by clicking HERE. It’s a promo for a four-part BluRay series we produced of SkyRiver Films – all shot in Alaska using our Cineflex and Sony HDCAM SR gear.

To create the program we used a helicopter-mounted Cineflex, a four-wheeler mounted Cineflex, a boat-mounted Cineflex, and a Cinflex attached to our van. The ZatzWorks Cineflex system includes mounts for almost any vehicle. Need help with aerials using a Cineflex in Alaska? Give us a call.

ZatzWorks Captures Mass Haul Out of Walrus

ZatzWorks is capturing amazing Cineflex HD video of walrus hauling out in northern Alaska (click on the picture to enable the links). Click here to see the amazing sights we captured on HDCAM SR. To avoid stampeding the walrus, we recorded these images from 4000′– something only possible with a quiet helicopter and a Cineflex. According to USGS scientists, these mass haulouts are a new phenomena brought about because the walrus have no Arctic sea ice to rest on.

Last year a large group was stampeded- resulting in the trampling deaths of several dozen animals. ZatzWorks traveled to Icy Cape to record this climate change related event, and this is what we recorded: Click here to see footage from Icy Cape in 2009.

The ZatzWorks R44/Cineflex system is the ideal system for wildlife monitoring and counting. Not only is the helicopter quiet, the Cineflex is so good, we can capture data better than NOAA’s latest digital camera systems. USGS scientists are now reviewing our footage to help understand the calf-cow-bull ration in these large walrus groups.
